Easy Digital Downloads is built for selling products using WordPress. This makes it a good option if you already have a WordPress site or blog.
The focus seems to be on one-off products, not subscriptions or video courses. As the homepage says, “eBooks, to WordPress plugins, to PDF files”. So not the best choice for an online community or membership site, at least not on its own. And if you were combining a bunch of WP plugins to create such a site, you’d be better off with an out of the box option like Teachable.
For selling software, music, eBooks, or text-based tutorials however, it seems like a great option.
Worth noting also that the parent company is behind other WP plugins such as OptinMonster, WPForms, MonsterInsights, and several others.
