Notion gives you a multi-featured writing system with several ways do things. You can also format your text in a number of ways.

Putting on my note-taking nerd hat for a second: Notion has hybrid Markdown writing system. When it comes to writing Markdown, it has a WSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Markdown editor.

Text Formatting Options

At a basic level, Notion allows you to format your text in the following ways:

• Bold
• Italic
• Bold and Italic
• Underline
• Strikethrough
• Colored
• With background color
• pre-formatted
• $E = mc^2$ - equations

Blockquote (note that blockquote is a unique type of block in Notion).

What is Markdown?

Markdown is a markup language that lets you format text without taking your hands off the keyboard or using keyboard shortcuts. Using simple markup symbols, you can do all sorts of formatting as you write.
